Sauternes
Sauternes is Bordeaux's finest sweet wine producing region. Sauternes wines have an “aged gold” color that is denser and darker than other dessert wines. When they age, they develop a stunning amber color. This wine is the perfect participant for fine dining. Served best in a dessert wine glass, Sauternes is best sipped slowly and swallowed in small amounts. Make sure the glass is well under half full. Best when paired with melon, foie gras, white meat, Roquefort cheese or chocolate deserts. Best served at 50 Fahrenheit.
